Relax.
It’s Your Wedding Day.
What if the experience of being in front of the camera was virtually indistinguishable from not having a camera there at all? We understand how awkward the presence of a camera can make any situation.
Add a cheesy, overly-excited, click-happy and sometimes-even-creepy photographer to the mix, and the best moments of your life can quickly become a string of fabricated scenarios in your matrimonial cringe-fest.
For 15 years and nearly 500 brides, we’ve built our business on making your day about you. We’ve operated almost exclusively by word-of-mouth referrals from brides and planners who have seen first-hand the value of two photographers completely committed to making your day an experience you will want to relive over and over again.
Our Philosophy:
Two Perspectives Are Better Than One.
It’s the things that we see from our perspective that make it your wedding.
When you hire Rob & Wynter, Rob & Wynter are there. We are there for all the moments being experienced by all the people…from the minute we arrive until the lights on your getaway car disappear into the night.
Husband
Rob sees the big picture, has the loud voice (especially useful when your loud family and friends need to be directed for photos) and knows that guys love nothing more than to spend as little time as possible having their pictures made.
Wife
Wynter thrives on the details and all things bride, moms and bridesmaids. We love when you hire a planner, but if you don’t, she’s there to help move things along so that no moments are missed.
Team
You are getting married. We are married. We know each other really well. Together, we have 5 kids ranging from 21 to 4. We know chaos and we know how to manage it. You will love how all of that translates to your wedding day.
our approach is pretty simple.
We make your day better by taking beautiful pictures & doing whatever is necessary to make it an experience centered around you & the people you love the most…on the best day of your life.
Our Process
Really, the only thing you need to decide is whether or not you will do a first look or not. Once you’ve decided that, we’ll make sure it’s exactly how you envisioned it.
Here, you can get an idea of how the timeline of a typical wedding day might look.
Your Wedding Day
The Details
Details. Ring shots. Dress shots. Getting ready. Custom pajamas. Hair. Makeup. Candids. Champagne toasts. All the things.
Just so you know…9/10 brides run late. We’ve been doing this long enough to know that it’s almost inevitable. Did you seriously think you could ask your 37 closest friends to all have hair done, makeup ready, dress on and flowers-in-hand at the time you asked?
We know that things happen. People run late. It’s not a matter of “if”. It’s a matter of “how will it effect your day” when it does.
We consider the inevitable when we plan your day. In our schedule, we give you an hour of down time between pictures and your walk down the aisle.
FIRST LOOK? We’ll arrive 4 hours before ceremony time.
NO FIRST LOOK? We’ll be there 3 hours before.
Regardless of your decision on that…here’s an example of what your first hour (or so) will look like…
So, You Are Doing a First Look
About 80% of our brides decide to do a first look with their soon-to-be spouse.
Why? Well, nearly 100% of them make the statement, “I want to get to my reception and spend time with my guests as soon as possible.”
Choosing to do a first look means that ALL formal bridal party and family photos (except for the ceremony, obviously) is DONE an hour before you walk down the aisle. It means you walk out of your ceremony and go straight to the reception.Â
No corralling all your friends and family post-ceremony.Â
No waiting around for the groomsman who has decided take his 7th trip to the bathroom of the day.
Once you are officially married, there is nothing between you and the party.
The first look is an intimate moment between the bride and groom. Once you determine where you want it to take place, we tell your groom where to stand and tell you how to approach him. After that, it’s your moment to spend together. We are simply casual observers, documenting the moment as it happens.
This session usually takes 15-20 mins and includes R+W shooting from bride AND groom perspectives.
Bride & Groom Formals
Once you have seen each other, about 90% of your stress is likely to be gone.
Now, we’ll shoot the majority of your formal portraits, individually and together. These are the future profile pics. These are the framers. These are the ones that your kids and grandkids will want one day.
This typically takes 25-30 minutes and includes both R+W shooting.
Bring On the Party. Your Party.
You’ve seen one another. The formal bridal photos of you are done. The photos of your groom are done. The photos of you both together…those are done too. The day is now in full-swing.
It’s time to add your best friends and family to the photos. We’ll have them come to wherever you are.
R or W will shoot the entire party. Then, girls go with Wynter and guys go with Rob for individual and group shots.
This part of the day takes a TOTAL of 20 mins. For the guys, that number is usually less. Especially in the summer. Because, let’s be honest…dudes don’t want to be outside. In a tux. In sweltering heat.
Enter, the wedding party…and sometimes, the kids…
Family Photos
Our goal is always to be finished with photos an hour before you walk down the aisle. That way, you aren’t on display for premature guest viewing.
Because…there are always those over-zealous guests who want to arrive in time to be randomly sitting in the seats when we attempt to take the final overall shots of your ceremony location.
Our schedule includes plenty of time to account for the uncle who had to run back home because somehow he remembered his spit cup and flask, but forgot his tie and dark socks.
All we ask is that you inform us ahead of time of any “pre-existing conditions” that might prevent family members from being within an arms length of one another in a photo.
The In-Between
Like we already addressed, we want you to have an hour to chill before the ceremony. But, this is also a great time to have a moment or two away from the crowd for some extra photos with your future spouse, your parents/family or whatever you would like.
Ceremony
We are not intrusive. Typically, we stay in the back of the room and get a mix of all of the significant elements…and of course, the kiss. Every wedding is different, so we’ll address all of this well-before all eyes are on you.
Rob stays and photographs the ceremony. Meanwhile, Wynter goes ahead to the reception to photograph all the details.
The Reception
Since you did a first look, you can walk out the back of your ceremony and go straight to your reception. Some couples opt for “sunset” photos following the ceremony, but that’s up to you. Either way, we’ll get you to your reception as quickly as possible.
Once the reception begins, we’ll be there for all the things untill you leave. Sometimes, because we have a bunch of kids and because two post-cake-cutting reception photographers isn’t always necessary, Wynter will leave after dances and cake cutting to relieve our babysitter.
When You Don't Do A First Look
We do everything the same, except we move all photos that include bride and groom to after the ceremony. Which, for the record, is nearly all of them.
To ballpark it…with nominal cooperation from wedding party and families, we can get most of this done in 45 mins.
Your Wedding. Your People.
If you are like most people, your wedding day is a blur. Most of it, you won’t even see, much less remember. You know it was the best day of your life. You know you spent it with all of your people. But…do you know how all of your people spent your day? You may not, but we do.
Weddings cost a lot of money & time.
Let’s begin by saving you a little time.
The discussion of pricing can get weird. In fact, it’s the one question that most people avoid asking us until the very end of the initial inquiry. So, we thought we’d save you the awkward conversation by letting you decide if we are worth it before you talk to us about availability.
Wedding Pricing
R&W pricing is intended for reference for potential customers only.
R&W pricing is not intended to be used to create an unfair pricing advantage for other photographers.
